At our two locations in Kiental BE and Wetzikon ZH we have a total of four buildings. The Kientalerhof forms the centre of the Campus for Body Therapy, where numerous training and further education courses take place. It is also the main building of Kientalerhof AG. It houses most of the shared areas such as the dining room and reception as well as most of our offices. It also has numerous course rooms and simple, friendly rooms in various sizes. In the garden of the Kientalerhof there is an organic swimming pond, which is very popular in summer.

Only a stone’s throw away from the Kientalerhof is the ChieneHuus, which opened in 2018. The retreat house in Wood100 construction is also partly used for the training and further education blocks in body therapy. Overall, however, the ChieneHuus offer is focused on the areas of retreat, awareness and relaxation. Ayurveda and fasting cures take place here regularly. The house also hosts various courses in the areas of mindfulness and yoga. In addition to the inviting lounge and the beautiful course rooms Amber and Glina, the ChieneHuus also houses the treatment centre for our individual treatments as well as the Room of Silence. Under the same roof there are 16 rooms and six apartments (three of which are rent out as holiday flats), which are generously proportioned and of high quality. They convey a feeling of security and peace.

The Naturhof, the third of our houses in Kiental, has a completely different face. Permaculture has been practised here for several years. The beautiful products often find their way into the kitchen of the Kientalerhof. The Naturhof also has a seminar room and a dormitory. Due to its separated location as well as its proximity to nature and the river Chiene, the Naturhof is particularly suitable for courses that aim for closeness to nature and intensive exchange.

Our fourth location is in Wetzikon ZH. This location consists of a large course room only; there are no accommodation facilities and no special offers in the areas of gastronomy or individual treatments. In Wetzikon, certain courses and training blocks in the field of body therapy take place regularly. The Wetzikon course room can also be rented for your own seminars.

Our gastronomy

Biological

70% biological

Vegetarian

predominantly vegetarian/vegan

Regional

preferred regional & seasonal

Our gastronomy is purely vegetarian since the beginning of 2023, furthermore predominantly organic or regional – together with the Naturhof, our permaculture farm. Not only the guests, lecturers and training participants at the Kientalerhof enjoy our cuisine, but also those from the neighboring ChieneHuus and the Naturhof located on the other side of the village. This makes our dining room a place of refreshment, gathering and relaxation in equal measure. More information about our gastronomy can be found here.

The Kiental Valley in the Bernese Oberland is a side valley of the Kandertal, which connects the Valais and Canton Bern via the Lötschberg tunnel. Furthermore, Kiental is also a quiet holiday village with around 200 inhabitants. The end of the Kiental Valley belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Jungfrau-Aletsch". Forests, mountain peaks, lush meadows and the Chiene torrent, which sometimes flows quietly and sometimes plunges down as a waterfall, give the valley its original charm. The tranquillity, the nature and the always atmospheric spectacles of weather, light and environment are highly appreciated by our students in body therapy and by our spa and holiday guests alike.

Activities inside and outside

Not only the nature offers a lot in the Kiental, but also in the Kientalerhof and the neighbouring ChieneHuus you will find a wide range of offers. In our treatment centre we offer a wide range of massages and body therapy treatments, which can be booked by our students and guests as well as by external day guests and people from the region.

Furthermore, we offer the following free social program for all our guests at ChieneHuus:

Meditation (daily except Mondays, 06:30-07:00, Room of Silence)
Qi Gong or Yoga (daily except Mondays, 07:00-08:00, Room of Silence)

Activities in summer

During summer the Kiental Valley offers numerous opportunities to enjoy nature – for example along the “Chiene” torrent, on one of the numerous hiking trails or over rough and smooth by bike. The steepest post bus route in Switzerland is also found in the Kiental. It leads to Griesalp, past thundering waterfalls and through the primeval Pochten gorge. PostBus uses a smaller bus to travel up the steep, narrow road. The route up to Griesalp, which attracts many tourists from Switzerland and abroad, is in operation from June to October.

Further information on the various summer activities in the region (including bad weather programme) can be found on the homepage of Kiental Tourism.

Activities in winter

The Kiental Valley also has a lot to offer in winter. For example, in the immediate vicinity of the village of Kiental you will find the 7 km long Ramslauenen toboggan run, which is accessed by a chair lift. In January and February you can even sledge in moonlight. The Ramslauenen area also has a ski lift and some easy to medium difficulty slopes (more information and slope map). Other options are snowshoe tours (a total of 30KM marked routes) and cross-country skiing. There is also a natural ice rink not far from the village of Kiental.

Further information about the various winter activities (also bad weather offers) can be found on the homepage of Kiental Tourism.
